The contents of the information section include:

Training Opportunities – This section provides  information regarding upcoming training meetings and seminars held by national development organizations and federal agencies that will be of value to policymakers and to those involved in  the fields of workforce and economic development.

Manuals – This section provides information about and access to the Know Your Region instructor and participant manuals that contain the full curriculum, additional resources, tips for training other practitioners, case studies, and funding sources.

Workshop – This section provides specific information on the inaugural Know Your Region workshop where the curriculum was initially reviewed by economic developers from across the nation and their feedback on its effectiveness. This section also provides a link to the Council for Community and Economic Research so practitioners can learn about Know Your Region workshops that are being planned over the coming year.

Collaborative RED Framework – This section provides all the resources developed as part of Module 1 of the Know Your Region curriculum. This module is designed to make the case for regionalism and clustering.

Leading the Planning Effort – This module offers all the resources developed as part of Module 2 of the Know Your Region curriculum. It is designed to provide practitioners and policy makers with the tools and resources to effectively lead development planning efforts from a regional perspective.

Detecting Regional Advantage – This module provides all of the resources developed as part of Module 3, Detecting Regional Advantage. This module is designed to teach practitioners how to consider and assess regional advantages in their own community by illustrating how a region’s economic base, talent pool, innovative environment, and business development interact to form the building blocks of regional competitive advantage.

Formulate Strategies – This module offers all of the resources developed as part of Module 4, Formulating Strategies. It builds upon the lessons from the previous modules and provides tools to understand and prioritize concrete strategies that can be utilized to overcome the challenges posed by recent global changes.

Workforce Development – This module provides all of the resources developed as part of Module 5, Linking Workforce Development and Economic Development. This module examines how global changes have transformed the requirements of the workforce development system and necessitate greater collaboration among workforce development and economic development initiatives.

Executing Your Plan – This module offers all of the tools developed as part of Module 6, Executing Your Plan. This module culminates the information presented in this curriculum by providing tools to assist practitioners in understanding how to evaluate and assess their development initiatives.
